PHONICS

The Department for Education has released some online phonics lessons, which are streaming daily, via you tube. If you open up the attachment below, all the information and links to the daily online lessons are there. If you miss the time slot, you can still click on the link and you can view them on you tube in your own time.

You will notice that there are lessons aimed at different year groups. If your child is in Mrs Thomas's group, then they should start with 'The Learning to Blend' section (blue). If they are confident with this they should then move straight on to the Orange section. If they are with Mrs Knowles or Mrs Gordhan, then start with the Orange section and progress to the Purple section when ready. Children who have Mrs Carver for phonics should start with the Purple section. Just click on the underlined link in the coloured section and it will take you directly to the web page. As we have been learning a different scheme (Read Write Inc) there may be sounds in each section that your child does or doesn't know. This is fine so please don't worry.  If you need any further advice or assistance please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher.

Finger exercises for EYFS

A little warm up we do before writing as a group. We often see the children do this when they're writing independently too. So lovely to see!

The Power Of Play

As much as we will always support you in supporting your children with the curriculum at home. This is so important, especially at this moment in time. If not the most important thing. With play comes imagination and problem solving and with those come learning. Enjoy!
