Welcome to Woodlands Infant School! We hope that our website helps you to understand a bit more about us. We strive to offer children the best possible provision and engage them with immersive, hands on and exciting learning opportunities. As an Infant school we teach pupils from 3 years to 7 years of age. Our link Junior school is Shirley Heath. We accept Rising Threes at three entry points, September, January and April, at the beginning of each term. All children new to Nursery receive an induction and we keep parents well informed of key information. If you have any questions or comments, please do call the school to speak to myself, or arrange a tour. Thank you for considering us as a potential school for your child. Please be guided to our Ofsted improvements, to be read alongside our report in the 'Our School' section of this page.

In addition to this, below is feedback from parents currently at our school to help give you context to our wonderful school community.
"Woodlands is a wonderful school and would always recommend it to others. Learning is fun for the children, with exciting challenges and topics. The teachers are fantastic and have helped my daughter grow in confidence, personality and with her learning. They focus on the positives and encourage children within their strengths. It is a happy and nurturing environment and we're very excited for our son, who has joined Woodlands this year and we have every confidence that he will enjoy it as much as his big sister".
"Woodlands Infant School is a fantastic school! The staff are extremely friendly, approachable, helpful and will go out of their was to help you. My Daughter had 4 very happy years at the school and now my son is experiencing exactly the same."
"Both of my children have attended Woodlands Infant School and have enjoyed every minute there.... they never want to come home!!!! The teachers are amazing, they will go out of their way to help and support the children ( as well as us parents). The school is such a lovely, friendly and inviting school with so much to offer the children. The open door policy allows parents to actively be involved in the children learning too. We are so lucky to have "outdoor learning" and the chance to go to Bills Woods to expand their learning - highly recommend you go on this if you can."
"We love Woodlands Infant School because children love it, they feel safe, cared and valued. We are very grateful to the teachers for their hard work and dedication. The staff are responsive to needs and concerns, parents welcomed and questions answered. The managing team is committed and effective. We are very happy to be part of Woodlands! "
"I have two children at Woodlands and as a family we love the school. The teachers are excellent, always approachable and supportive and go above and beyond to care for our children. This year we have faced so many challenges and complexities with COVID -19, the school has been excellent at foreseeing and reacting to the current world we live in and has made the school a safe and enjoyable place for the children to come to.
The curriculum is varied and the school have an excellent approach to welfare and mental wellbeing. I wouldn’t want my children to be anywhere else!"
'There have been some exciting and ambitious changes at Woodlands over the past year so that children can enjoy coming into school every day. We are friends as well as colleagues and work together in the best interests of children, families and each other. I am proud to work at Woodlands: a school that leads by example for others to follow; that truly cares about capturing excitement and engagement; when children are taught to challenge themselves; where reading and wellbeing flourish and when I am valued.'
'Working at Woodlands is comparable to riding on a roller-coaster; thrilling, yet daunting, as no two days are the same and Mrs Wood certainly keeps us on our toes! What is comforting though, is that there is always somebody on hand to help you should you need it, as we are lucky to have a team of supportive, caring staff, who really look out for each other. The school is undergoing many positive changes, which I feel a privileged to be part of.'
