Consultation on our Updated RSHE Policy

As part of our commitment to providing a high-quality education and supporting the wellbeing of all children, we are consulting with parents and carers on our updated Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) Policy.

Relationships Education and Health Education are statutory parts of the primary curriculum. At Woodlands, our RSHE curriculum is designed to be age-appropriate, inclusive and supportive of children's personal development, safety and wellbeing.  

We value the views of our parents and carers and invite you to review the documents and materials below before sharing your feedback.

Why are we reviewing our RSHE Policy?

The Department for Education has recently updated its statutory guidance for Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE). As a result, schools are required to review their policies and curriculum provision to ensure they remain compliant with current expectations and continue to meet the needs of pupils. As part of this process, we are consulting with parents and carers on our updated RSHE Policy and associated curriculum materials.

This policy explains how PSHE, Relationships Education and Health Education are taught at Woodlands, our position as an infant school and how the curriculum supports pupils’ safety, wellbeing and personal development.
