Requests for childcare are placed on our admissions list. This does not guarantee when or if a place will become available.

 

The admissions list is operated by the childcare manager.

 

No parent or child will be discriminated against because of race, gender or disability.

 

Childcare places are usually only offered to children who attend Woodlands Infant School.

 

The list is confidential and as such may not be viewed by parents.

 

ALLOCATION OF PLACES PROCEDURE

Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis, with the following exceptions being given priority regardless of place on the list:

 

• Parents who want a full time place but have accepted a part time place as an interim measure will be given priority when places become available;
• Parents with a child already at the setting who wish to increase the number of sessions they have will be given priority over other 1st time applicants;
• Parents with a child already at the setting who are applying for a place for a second child will be given priority over 1st time applicants;
• First time applicants who want a full time place will be given priority over those first time applicants who want a part time place. Within this, priority is given to nursery children requiring a full time place then children in the rest of school requiring full time places.

 

Within each category, priority will be given to those requiring full time places for a nursery child then full time places for children in school.

 

CONFIRMATION OF PLACE

Parents will be contacted when a place becomes available. If they no longer require the place it will be re-allocated according to the above criteria.

 

A registration form will be sent out. This is to be returned within 10 working school days - if not the place will be re-allocated.

 

ADMISSIONS PROCEDURE (New School Year)

Parents who already have before or after school club sessions are guaranteed the same place for the following year, (unless their child is in Year 2).

 

First time applicants will be placed on our admissions list.

 

In May current parents will be contacted to confirm their requirements for the following school year.

 

The remainder of places will be allocated in June after the new parents meeting, in line with our allocation of places procedure.

 

The place will only be held for 10 working school days. To guarantee the place the registration form must be returned within this time.
