PARENTING VIRTUAL GROUP DURING COVID
Following the recent retightening of restrictions due to Covid-19, the Solihull Parenting Team are now pleased to be able to offer a virtual ‘Being a Parent’ group.
They will also continue to offer weekly tweets, one to one telephone consultations with supportive advice, resources and links, plus FREE online ‘Solihull Approach’ Parenting Courses.
As the situation is constantly changing, they will continue to provide updates on their activity via the Solihull Parenting Team Facebook page.
The ‘Being a Parent’ virtual group is a supportive group where parents & carers of children aged 0-11 years can meet and talk in a familiar & friendly forum without their children. The sessions will be 1.5 hours a week for 9 weeks, giving parents the opportunity to support one another and share knowledge & experiences with the help of tried and tested resources from the ‘Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities’ programme. The group aims to help parents to understand their child better, manage challenging behaviour, improve communication and build a supportive relationship. The group will take place using Microsoft Teams from 10am – 11.30am on a Thursday, and parents will be sent full joining instructions beforehand.
To book a place, or for more information, please contact the parenting team
via email to bsmhft.parenting@nhs.net by phone on 0121 301 2773 or via their Facebook page – Solihull Parenting Team.
HAPPY MAMAS SOLIHULL
A local support group supporting women through the highs and lows of early motherhood.
https://happymamassolihull.wordpress.com
We are a new Peer Support group based in Solihull for mums to meet with other women who have experience in the highs and lows of becoming a mum and have come out the other side in one piece!
We’ve had personal experience of different ways you may be feeling, such as feeling that you can’t cope or manage your time effectively or feeling anxious or worried about keeping baby safe and well. You may feel ‘Mum guilt’ or that you’re failing or not doing ‘enough’. You may be experiencing loneliness or loss of personal identity, especially at the moment during the Covid-19 restrictions.
Having been on the journey already, and come out the other side in one piece, we can support you by offering a confidential, non-judgemental space where mums can share thoughts and issues with other mums who are often going through similar experiences. By talking and listening to others, it may help you to feel that you are not alone.
Our simple aim is to support mums through the ups and downs of early motherhood and make it a more positive experience, hopefully making friends along the way.
